From 14 to 16 June, DES 2022 will bring together in the Andalusian city more than 12,000 congress participants from all over the world to promote the international recognition of Málaga as a technology and innovation hub in southern Europe.
DES – Digital Enterprise Show 2022, the benchmark event in Southern Europe on digital transformation to be held for the first time in Málaga from 14 to 16 June 2022, has presented the new features of its next edition to the technology ecosystem of Málaga and Andalucía at The Green Lemon building in Málaga TechPark. The event, considered the largest European professional forum focused on innovation and digitalisation, will bring together in Málaga more than 12,000 professionals from all over the world to discover the most advanced and innovative technological solutions and their application to any business model. In addition, attendees will learn about the trends and challenges that mark the future of the economy and the different industries from leading companies in the sector and international experts.
Málaga, world’s capital of digital transformation
DES-Digital Enterprise Show will be held for the first time in Málaga with the aim of promoting the Andalusian city as a hub for technological and digital innovation in southern Europe. “Málaga City Council and the Andalusian Regional Government have been working for years to turn the city into an international technology hub through various initiatives. In addition, more and more centres of innovation or technological excellence of international reference are deciding to move their facilities to the city. That is why we decided to move the DES – Digital Enterprise Show to Málaga to hold its next editions,” said Albert Planas, CEO of NEBEXT, the company organising the event, in collaboration with Málaga City Council and the Andalusian Regional Government.
DES2022 will be an opportunity for the local technology ecosystem, both in Málaga and Andalucía, to come into contact with investors and major international benchmarks and to establish professional and business relationships to attract new companies to the city, boosting job creation in the ICT sector and the development of an economic model based on innovation and talent.
Sandra Infante, director of DES – Digital Enterprise Show, highlighted that “DES aims to show the world that Málaga is a unique city to host international talent and boost the development of leading technology companies. For his part, Felipe Romera, director of Málaga TechPark, said: “This presentation aims to encourage the participation of Málaga TechPark companies in DES, taking advantage of its celebration in Málaga in June. The involvement of companies in this type of event will strengthen the ecosystem of Málaga companies and relations with other companies attending the event”.
International leaders and major technology companies present at DES2022
DES2022 will feature international speakers such as Gunter Pauli, founder of ZERI (Zero Emissions Research and Initiatives) and entrepreneur, who will talk about the blue economy. Liz Parrish, CEO of the biotech company Bioviva Science USA, will present the advances in her research to develop a method that will reverse the ageing of cells and allow us to extend life expectancy, and Jesús Hernández Galán, Director of Accessibility and Innovation at the ONCE Foundation, will analyse how technology can help people with disabilities to increase their autonomy.
During the 3-day event, under the slogan “Reimagine Business”, more than 400 experts from around the world will share their strategies and success stories of digital transformation. A content agenda that is completed with six vertical forums focused on different industries (industry 5.0, retail and logistics, health, smart cities, banking, and tourism and hospitality) and agendas focused on each professional profile (CEOs, CIOs, CMOs, CDOs, CFOs, Human Resources…).
In addition, attendees will be able to learn first-hand about the most innovative technological solutions on the market in technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Cybersecurity, Big Data, Virtual Reality, Blockchain and 5G, among others.
United Kingdom as guest country
In this new edition, the United Kingdom will be the guest country at DES2022. Dozens of companies from the country will present the keys to success that have led them to occupy seventh place in terms of the integration of digital technology by their companies, achieving 33% of European technological investment. This is why DES2022 will be attended by a large business delegation from the United Kingdom, both in terms of technology and its main economic sectors, made up of large corporations, SMEs, but also start-ups.
