The Regional Ministry of Economic Transformation has accompanied the company throughout the process of implementation in Andalucía through the IDEA Agency and Malaga TechPark.
The Polish company Hicron has inaugurated this morning its offices in the BIC Euronova building, located in Malaga TechPark. Thus, Hicron’s Board of Directors, headed by its CEO, Michal Guzek; its COO, Szymon Wlochowicz; and its CFO, Katarzyna Sokalska; together with a group of eight Hicron Team Managers in Poland have travelled to Málaga to celebrate the official opening of Hicron in Spain.
The opening event was attended by companies and organisations collaborating with Hicron such as Malaga TechPark, IDEA Agency, Extenda, Certus, Polisf Foreign Trade Office, University of Málaga and BIC Euronova. In addition to the official inauguration event, the aim of the visit was to meet with partners and local authorities of the park and the UMA, among others, and discuss cooperation plans.
Hicron’s installation in Malaga has been possible thanks to the IDEA Agency, which depends on the Regional Ministry of Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge and Universities, and Malaga TechPark. More specifically, Economic Transformation, through IDEA, has accompanied Hicron during the implementation process, from making the decision to finding the location and everything necessary for the company to settle in Malaga Tech Park.
Thus, Hicron’s expansion plans are focused on employing more than 20 people in the area of advanced IT technologies in the following months, both experts and junior consultants and programmers.
In addition, Hicron has connected with local partners, including lawyers, business advisors, recruitment agencies and foreign trade offices. Hicron has also rented office space and is currently preparing internal facilities and structures to increase employment in Málaga. These activities include the initiation of three-month internship programmes for students already operating in other Hicron locations, providing the opportunity for permanent employment.
“We see the opening of the Spanish office as a milestone in Hicron’s history. By selecting the location for this investment, we considered a number of criteria, including a friendly and stable business support environment, potential access to talent and the undeniable attractiveness of the location for current and future employees. We wanted the chosen country to be a member of the European Union and to have good air connections with other countries. The location in Malaga is the perfect answer to all these needs,” said Szymon Wlochowicz, COO of Hicron.
We asked a large group of managers to come to Malaga with us for a special purpose. We have ambitious development plans here in Malaga that focus on the creation of several fully functioning teams that would support the realisation of IT projects for our international clients, i.e. more than 20 people in the coming months. Ambitious but realistic: that is how we describe this plan. It will only become a reality with the involvement of our managers who will support it, understand the business reality in Spain, establish connections with our partners, especially in PTA and the University of Málaga. After two days of internal workshops and meetings with our partners, we are more than confident that we will successfully complete this plan,” said Michal Guzek, CEO of Hicron.
