Cuatroochenta opens new office in Málaga TechPark with its cybersecurity firm Sofistic

  • Sofistic starts operating from the technology park with the aim of strengthening its position in Spain as a reference company in the sector.

The technology company Cuatroochenta lands in Málaga TechPark through its cybersecurity firm Sofistic, specialised in offering state-of-the-art MDR (Managed Detection & Response) services to the financial, healthcare and critical infrastructure sectors.

The new office in Málaga is a further step in its strategy to position itself as a benchmark company in the field of cybersecurity in Spain and Latin America, especially in the application of artificial intelligence in the protection of critical sectors. Sofistic has three Security Operations Centers (SOC) that operate with 24/7 service from Spain, Panama and Colombia.

The director of Málaga TechPark, Felipe Romera, says that “The incorporation of Cuatroochenta to the Málaga TechPark ecosystem means the contribution of an excellent reference in the cybersecurity hub of the park, a key sector in the development of Málaga Tecnológica and in the future of global technology. Its presence in The Green Ray, a space we share with the University of Málaga, is fundamental to strengthen cooperation with this institution in the area of cybersecurity.”

Fernando Denis Ramirez, Country Manager of Sofistic in Spain points out that “Settling in Málaga TechPark is an opportunity to create synergies between the different companies in the park and, in addition, it opens the door to collaboration and knowledge transfer between companies and universities, innovation and local talent.”

Recently, the cybersecurity firm has joined the new Andalusian Cybersecurity Cluster, based at the CIAN, located in Málaga, which already has more than 60 member companies. Fernando explains that “Our goal is to further strengthen the positioning of Sofistic and Cuatroochenta in the area.”

With the new office in Málaga, Cuatroochenta has a total of 11 offices; 7 of them in Spain (Castelló, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Burgos, Lugo and Málaga) and 4 in Latin America (Panama, Bogota, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic), from which more than 270 employees work. Its headquarters are also located in a technology park, specifically in the Espaitec of the Universitat Jaume I in Castelló.

The technology company, specialised in developing cloud and cybersecurity solutions for organisations, has been listed on BME Growth as a company in expansion since 2020 and this year has been recognised as one of the 11 best SMEs to work for in Spain in 2024 by Great Place to Work®. Cuatroochenta will also apply social and people policies, such as flexible working hours, the possibility of teleworking and its training and flexible remuneration plans, to the team at its new office in Málaga TechPark.
