Both entities are committed to driving technological innovation and promoting cooperation and the development of joint projects
The Ricardo del Valle Institute of Innovation Foundation (Innova IRV) and the Institute Technological of Aragón (ITA) have announced the signing of a collaboration agreement, through which the Aragonese centre officially joined the Foundation, expanding its national vocation.
President of Innova IRV, Ezequiel Navarro and CEO of ITA, Ester Borao have signed this agreement to reaffirm both organizations’ commitment to strengthening and promoting mutual cooperation in technological innovation and development.
This agreement aims to enhance synergies between both institutions, promoting knowledge transfer, the development of joint projects, and the advancement of initiatives that encourage innovation across various fields.
Some of these areas include artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), advanced communications, microelectronics, robotics and automation, advanced materials, and circular economy, among others. In this way, the partnership seeks to establish an ecosystem that promotes the creation of new technological developments, supports entrepreneurship, and strengthens both national and international competitiveness.
The ITA, with a team of over 300 professionals, serves as a key element in the innovation policy of the Aragon regional administration. Its purpose is to promote business competitiveness and support the creation of new sectors through the generation, acquisition, adaptation, transfer, and dissemination of innovative technologies.
In this sense, Esther Borao pointed out that ‘this alliance helps us to better fulfill our mission as a centre. We need more and more companies prepared for a future marked by change and uncertainty, which we are already experiencing, where technology is our ally, a tool that empowers us. Collaboration is the only way to become stronger and make a greater impact on the society we envision.”
Ezequiel Navarro pointed out, “ITA brings together a rich and concentrated ecosystem, offering an opportunity to connect our innovative tech companies within the Ricardo Valle Foundation to the capabilities and synergies of this centre in fields like cybersecurity, AI, Agro Tech—where they have a robust industry—or electric and connected vehicles. Moreover, they share Innova IRV’s values: a passion for innovation and generosity”.
Navarro also highlighted Aragon is home to a university with a five-century history and hosts some of the most cutting-edge and innovative companies in Spain, such as Grupo Samca and Grupo Empresarial Costa. Additionally, it leads Europe in appliance production with Grupo BSH and boasts abundant water resources and renewable energy, which are key for green hydrogen and supercomputing centres and “data centres”.
