Malaga TechPark hosts the second edition of Innohealth, a meeting focused on the use of data in digital health

  • The use of technologies such as Big Data or Artificial Intelligence allows analyzing large volumes of medic information

Málaga TechPark hosted the second edition of Innohealth, which brought together researchers and professionals from various entities, companies, research centers, and patient associations. This event was organized by the Biomedical Research Institute of Málaga and the Nanomedicine Platform (Ibima Plataforma Bionand), with the collaboration of Málaga TechPark and the Ricardo Valle Institute of Innovation Foundation (InnovaIRV).

The Innohealth event, which was focused on the use of data in research and innovation in digital health, aims to explore opportunities in this field and foster collaboration among researchers and professionals from different backgrounds. The goal is to generate new innovative technological projects that will benefit society.

Health data research, especially through technologies such as big data and AI, enables the analysis of large volumes of medical data stored in electronic health records. This facilitates the development of more accurate diagnoses, personalized treatments, and the early detection of diseases, which not only optimizes healthcare but also allows for more efficient, precise, and tailored medicine to meet the individual needs of each patient.

The event took place at the Green Lemon building, located within the Technology Park, and began with an opening ceremony featuring speeches by Scientific Director of Ibima Plataforma Bionand,  Francisco J. Tinahones; Deputy Director of the Technical Advisory Subdirectorate for Information Management at the Andalusian Health Service, Dolores Muñoyerro; and Vice President of Industry 4.0 at InnovaIRV Enrique Serrano.

After the opening ceremony, the event continued with two roundtable discussions that addressed key topics on the sharing of data in research and its application in creating innovative solutions. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to hold bilateral meetings, fostering communication and collaboration between researchers, technology companies, and patient associations.

Innohealth Málaga aims to establish itself as a leading forum in innovation, fostering collaboration between institutions, companies, professionals, and patients to drive transformation in healthcare. Research based on the use of data is crucial for innovation in the biomedical and health sectors.
