With over 800 runners filling the streets of  Málaga TechPark, the third edition of the Tau-Run charity race was a resounding success. This initiative, organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer in collaboration with Málaga’s technopolis, brought together individuals, groups, and institutions united in the fight against cancer.

The goal of the Tau-Run is, not only to raise funds for the Association, but also to promote healthy lifestyle such as sports, a balanced diet or avoiding tobacco. These strategies reduce the risks of cancer up to 40%.

The funds raised will be fully allocated to the programs and free services offered by the Spanish Association Against Cancer to patients and their families, including psychological support, social care, physiotherapy, nutrition, speech therapy, prevention programs, and cancer research.

Awards ceremony and gratitude acknowledgment

The day concluded with the medal ceremony, attended by director of Málaga TechPark, Felipe Romera; Sustainability Manager at the AECC, María Santos; and representing the Málaga City Council the Head of the Campanillas District, Daniel Muñoz.

María Santos took the opportunity to thank all the people and institutions that made this resounding success possible. “We want to deeply thank all the runners, whose enthusiasm and solidarity are the driving force behind this cause, as well as Málaga TechPark for their support and for providing their facilities. We also extend our thanks to the Málaga City Council, especially the Campanillas district, for their unwavering support. A special recognition goes to our volunteers, whose tireless dedication has been key to the organization, and to the sponsors and collaborators, such as Vodafone, Opplus, Framaluz, Aertec, Iris Global, EY, David Lloyd Clubs, Solán de Cabras, and many other organizations, for joining efforts and making this achievement possible.”

Similarly, the director of Málaga TechPark thanked everyone who joined on Saturday morning at the Málaga technopolis, as well as the event’s sponsoring companies. “The innovation ecosystem is also built through events like these. At Málaga TechPark, we are very mindful of the social responsibility of our companies. Moreover, it’s a great opportunity for employees and executives to get to know each other and share ideas in a more relaxed environment. Undoubtedly, sports is another way to drive technological momentum, and even more so when it’s for such a beneficial cause for society, like the work done by the Spanish Association Against Cancer.”
