Malaga

Málaga TechPark is located in the city of Malaga, strategically placed on Spain’s southern coast, in the historic region of Andalusia, featuring fascinating landscapes, a desirable Mediterranean climate with annual temperatures averaging 18.2 ºC and over 3,000 hours of sun a year, as well as a wealth of sporting and leisure options, thanks to its considerable tourist infrastructure.

Malaga Capital, and particularly the area of the River Guadalhorce valley, enjoy good access to the rest of Spain’s transport network, due to the new East-West and North road links and the High-Speed Rail (AVE) network. More and more companies involved in manufacturing and service activities are setting up here, playing a part in creating a robust industrial infrastructure.

Its airport is the fourth busiest in terms of traffic between Spain’s airports, providing connections throughout Europe, the Americas, and cities on other continents.

University of Malaga

The city has a young and dynamic university with over 40,000 students, 20 faculties and Higher Education Centres, the most prominent ones being those focusing on Information and Production Technology, meaning an ample potential for qualified talent.

The University of Malaga (UMA) is one of the key players behind Málaga TechPark. Since moving into the blue building in 1994, cooperation and joint initiatives have gone from strength to strength.

The arrival of the RRTO and research and spin-off groups, the Andalucía TECH head office and the bio-computing building, heralded the first steps of this cooperation. More recently, the development of a joint range of services as well as the Málaga TechPark setting up in the Teatinos part of campus, with the opening of The Green Ray building, have formed new cooperative channels between the two institutions.
