The Green Ray space hosts until this Friday a new edition of its summer courses, organized by Malaga TechPark, the General Foundation of the University of Malaga and the International University of Andalusia, and with the participation of companies located in the technology park.
Today saw the start of the course on 5G technology organized by Malaga TechPark together with the General Foundation of the University of Malaga (FGUMA) and the UNIA (International University of Andalusia).
The course focused on the new 5G innovation platform created by Ericsson in the park, open to experimentation by other companies. The project ‘ES5: An open 5G innovation platform in Malaga TechPark’ aims to enhance the collaboration between companies and organizations and provide the local innovation ecosystem with a reference tool in Europe and the world. It is therefore a great opportunity both for all the companies located in Malaga TechPark and for the new ecosystem born around InnovaIRV (Ricardo Valle Institute of Innovation), a technology center constituted with more than 30 international and national companies working on different technologies.
Those attending the course (both on-site and via streaming) can learn about developments, prototyping and testing of new products and services from leading technology companies that, from Malaga TechPark, mark the state of the art and the most innovative 5G-based applications.
The opening ceremony was led by José Ángel Narváez, Rector of the University of Málaga, and Felipe Romera, director of Malaga TechPark, who highlighted in his speech the strategic importance of this and other disruptive technologies, as well as the value of collaboration and business synergies to advance their development. This is the case of the Malaga TechPark Execs management club and the InnovaIRV innovation center, both examples of strategic cooperation between technology companies that contribute to the promotion of Malaga as a hub of reference.
The course has expert speakers working in the development of 5G technology, especially from the technopolis of Malaga. Companies such as Ericsson, Tupl, Vodafone, Dekra, Keysight, Idneo, Premo and Endesa, as well as the University of Malaga and the Secretary of State for Telecommunications are participating in the course.
All this in two days with presentations aimed at publicizing the platform ‘ES5: An open 5G innovation platform in Málaga TechPark’, the degree of implementation of the technology and the use cases in which they are advancing, with applications such as the connected car or applications in industry 4.0, as well as panels to analyze the future challenges of 5G technology in an increasingly digitized and sustainable environment.
