Malaga TechPark welcomes the AI technology startup Predictiva

The ability to generate and attract talent, as well as the possibility of establishing links with companies and the UMA, have been decisive factors in choosing Málaga TechPark as a location for the development of its activity.

The number of technological and innovative companies moving to Málaga TechPark is increasing. The technopolis welcomed the Malaga company Predictiva last February. An innovation hub specialized in artificial intelligence, which has decided to move its headquarters to the Rayo Verde building, located on the expansion grounds of the Teatinos Campus.

This technology startup was founded by Pablo Enciso, current CEO of the company, in Marbella in 2016. Three years later, its current CTO and CPO, Juan García, joined the team. His background in Málaga TechPark-based companies, Nokia (now Ericsson), Vitelcom, AT4 Wireless (now Keysight) and Tupl, has influenced the decision to relocate. For García, “the Technology Park is the best ecosystem in southern Spain to work in”.

However, Juan’s experience is not the only factor in choosing Malaga TechPark as the location for the development of his activity. The possibilities offered by the technopolis to establish links with the University of Malaga and other companies, as well as its ability to generate and attract talent have been the key reasons for choosing its new location.

Human capital is a very important factor within the company. Juan García, who also works as site manager at the new Málaga TechPark office, stressed the importance of teamwork. “I am very proud of my team, and I believe that nowadays it is essential to deal with both the human and the technical side, to be close to them on a daily basis so that they can give their best while we all enjoy ourselves, this is a pillar of my management at Predictiva”, said the Director of Technology and Product. He also highlighted ‘the human quality, commitment and excellence’ of the current team.

In a growth stage, Predictiva has numerous clients from different parts of Spain, Chile, Peru and Colombia. They have raised investment rounds of over 4 million euros, so they expect to triple their workforce in the next eighteen months. At the moment, the Malaga TechPark office has three vacancies to fill, for the positions of Junior DevOps, Data Engineer and QA Lead.

Predictiva currently has a staff of twenty-three employees, and collaborates with seven other external professionals. Since February, the technical team, which is made up of fourteen engineers in four work teams (Software, Data Science, DevOps and Product Management), works from the Rayo Verde offices in a flexible and remote way. Predictiva’s business team, in charge of executing sales, operations and marketing actions, is teleworking from Madrid.

The startup has developed an innovative technology called UPBE. It is a conversational intelligence platform to provide service and improve the operational efficiency of call centers. Easy to integrate, it works as an artificial intelligence (AI) superbot that automates quality audits and optimizes the sales processes of these customer service centers. Based on machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP), UPBE acts as a detective that identifies elements and patterns in the context of conversations with customers, transforming all this information massively into value-added data that helps improve decision-making and generate value for its customers’ business.
