  • This new project involves 16 science and technology parks from 10 different Spanish autonomous communities and aims to promote the scientific and technological development of the country by highlighting 39 key innovation infrastructures that are at the forefront of progress in Spain

The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) has announced the launch of “APTE Espacios de Innovación” (APTE Spaces of Innovation) a new initiative designed to showcase and promote the capabilities and opportunities offered by innovation spaces located in the parks that are members of the association.

This new project involves 16 science and technology parks from 10 different Spanish autonomous communities and aims to promote the scientific and technological development of the country by highlighting 39 key innovation infrastructures that are at the forefront of progress in Spain.

The initiative revolves around a series of guided tours, which will take place on 7 and 8 November, days in which the parks will open their gates to showcase a total of 39 innovative spaces. These open days will allow researchers, businesses, general public , and public administrations to gain first-hand insight into Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructures (ICTS) and other centers dedicated to innovation that promote experimentation and technological development.

The initiative serves as a platform to strengthen the Spanish innovation ecosystem by highlighting critical infrastructures. The specific goals of the project are:

  1. To raise awareness of the ICTS, innovation infrastructures, and living labs located in the parks, emphasizing their essential role in the development of innovative projects.
  2. To promote collaboration among the stakeholders of the Quadruple Innovation Helix, including researchers, businesses, civil society, and public administrations in a knowledge-sharing and synergy-driven environment.
  3. To showcase the advantages of living labs, highlighting their capacity as spaces for experimentation and co-creation where new technologies and innovative solutions are tested.
  4. Promote scientific and technological development, positioning Spain as a benchmark in research and development through the promotion of infrastructures dedicated to innovation.
  5. To contribute to the scientific development in Spain by facilitating access to facilities and technologies that support research and innovation.

“APTE Spaces of Innovation” represents a unique opportunity to showcase the capabilities of science and technology parks as engines of development. By opening their facilities to the public, this initiative aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in Spain and promote collaboration among key players in the sector. Science and technology parks are crucial for fostering economic growth based on science and technology, and this initiative reaffirms their importance in the country’s innovation strategy.
