The Ricardo Valle Innovation Institute Foundation (Innova IRV), together with the Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mines of the Regional Government of Andalusia, organized the Impulso&Crece conference this Tuesday in Seville. The event brought together professionals and experts to address the challenges of digitalization, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity in the automotive and metal-mechanical sectors.

The event’s opening ceremony, held at Endesa’s corporate headquarters, featured the participation of Territorial Delegate for Economy, Finance, European Funds, and Industry, Energy, and Mines of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Antonio José Ramírez, and Director of Endesa in Andalusia, Extremadura, Ceuta, and Melilla, as well as Vice President of Circular Economy at the Innova IRV Foundation, Rafael Sánchez.

Rafael Sánchez opened today’s event and highlighted: “need for public-private collaboration to drive the digitalization of industrial networks in strategic sectors such as automotive and metal-mechanics, which are key drivers of growth in Andalusia. User experience marks a paradigm shift, and at the Innova IRV Foundation, we are working in this direction through multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral groups, in which I am honored to participate. Events like this aim to continue strengthening industrial sectors, gaining deeper insight into their work, and fostering greater collaboration and cooperation. Let’s join forces—more cooperation is needed. Alone, we may go faster, but together, we can go further.”

Likewise, Antonio José Ramírez emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration in driving industrial digitalization in the region. He stated: “At the Regional Ministry, through initiatives like this one in collaboration with the Innova IRV Foundation, we are working on the development of strategic lines such as the adoption of artificial intelligence and the strengthening of cybersecurity capabilities in Andalusian industrial companies”.

Innovation and Long-term vision program

During the conference, leading industry experts delivered presentations, including Jorge Carrera (Dekra), who explored the “Challenges in the Driving of the Future,” and Jorge León (Mercedes-Benz Group Services España), who showcased AI applications in luxury experiences.

Virginia Mena (HORSE) spoke about the importance of a “Data-driven Strategy: the best way to predict the future is to create it.” This approach highlighted the relevance of data and artificial intelligence in creating competitive advantages for the industry.

Additionally, Patricio Alemany and Antonio Saúl Osuna (Rovimática) discussed the use of computer vision for quality control in the automotive industry.

Impulso&Crece Project

The celebration of this conference is part of the Impulso&Crece project, driven by the Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mines, with the goal of advancing industrial digitalization in Andalusia.

The project aims to create a conducive environment for the development of industrial projects, improve productivity and value generation, develop competitive talent, and foster cooperation and innovation within the digital value chain.
