Kadans Science Partner acquired the I+D3 plot at Málaga TechPark with the aim of building an Innovation Centre to host innovative companies. This centre will be included in an international network of centres in technology parks and university campuses in different European countries.
This plot is located in the centre of the technology area, where Kadans acquired the surface right to build a space for companies to rent. These must be companies that meet the profile.
The initiative
The project to be developed by Kadans is an Innovation and Transfer Centre to host companies and institutions that focus on R&D&I in intensive sectors of technology such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and connected vehicles, among others. The estimated initial investment for the construction of the centre is €16 million.
This centre, which will be located in Málaga TechPark, will be part of an international network of centres promoted by Kadans, which currently hosts more than 300 companies established in different European countries in which renowned universities and European science and technology parks cooperate.
The project has a strict goal in terms of environmental sustainability, aiming to create an inspiring, dynamic and open atmosphere integrated into Málaga TechPark.
With a surface of around 12,000 m2 distributed in three interlinked buildings, the centre will include workspaces in flexible modules for innovative companies, meeting rooms, hardware prototypes workshops, areas for knowledge transfer activities, cafeteria, green spaces and an underground car park with two floors.
The project aims to develop a unique centre that stands out in terms of sustainable built environment, with a design based on circular economy criteria and with a significant sustainability feature, using photovoltaic and thermal panels, geothermal wells and other systems that achieve an energy-neutral building, as well as worldwide recognised certifications (Breeam or Leed).
Kadans Science Partner will be in charge of the management of the centre, including value-added services such as intellectual property consulting, project financing, promotion of the relationships between tenants, interaction with Málaga TechPark and the University of Málaga, and so on and so forth.
According to Carolina España, minister for Economy, Finance and European Funds at the Junta de Andalucía (regional government of Andalusia) and president of Málaga TechPark, this type of infrastructure will boost the establishment of technology companies, which will strengthen the image of the park as a centre of attraction for companies in specific sectors such as technology. This will bring growth, investment, employment and wealth to the province of Málaga, creating a solid and a high-quality future in the park.
