Málaga TechPark, member of two hydrogen alliances

  • The two alliances are the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance and the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Alliance

Málaga TechPark is currently part of two hydrogen alliances that seek to promote hydrogen economy and different methods of hydrogen production, storage and processes. Hydrogen technologies play a significant role in the prevention of climate and in the production of clean energy to supply many people.

The European Clean Hydrogen Alliance:

This Alliance aims to promote hydrogen technologies by 2030. It brings together the renewable and low-carbon hydrogen value chain, from its production to its transmission, considering important sectors due to their mobility and energy applications, among others.

The members of the Alliance come from companies, national and local authorities, civil society and other stakeholders of the hydrogen value chain in Europe.

Furthermore, Málaga TechPark has been selected to take part in the organisation of a cycle of round tables to support the European Commission and the members of the Alliance throughout 2023, aiming to implement the EU Hydrogen Strategy with a focus on hydrogen use.

Andalusian Green Hydrogen Alliance:

This Alliance, set up on 29 March 2023, seeks to contribute to the decarbonisation of the Andalusian economy and to strengthen its industry’s position as one of the pillars of Andalusia’s “Green Revolution”.

That way, by taking advantage of the different options of clean energies thanks to Andalusia’s geographical location and orography, it is seen as an opportunity for the socioeconomic, industrial and technological development of the region. The goal is to create a new energy scenario for Andalusia, which will be strengthened thanks to the hydrogen economy development.

Moreover, Málaga TechPark also participates in an Erasmus Plus European project (Centres of Excellence) called “H2Excellence: Fuel cells and Professional Training Centres of Excellence for safe and sustainable energy in Europe”. That way, this project supports the establishment and the gradual development of European platforms for professional centres of excellence, contributing to regional development, innovation and smart specialisation strategies, as well as international collaboration platforms in the field of hydrogen.
