Málaga TechPark presents its technology park model to the President of Melilla

  • Carolina España welcomes the President of Melilla in a meeting to establish a strategic alliance aimed at promoting innovation and collaboration between both institutions

The Minister of Economy, Finance, and European Funds, Carolina España, welcomed last Friday a delegation from the Autonomous City of Melilla at Málaga TechPark. The delegation was led by its president, Juan José Imbroda, in a meeting held with the aim of establishing a strategic alliance to promote innovation through a collaborative ecosystem between both institutions.

The objective of the meeting was to develop a joint project between the innovation ecosystem of Málaga, led by Málaga TechPark and Bic Euronova. The project aimed to define, develop, and implement initiatives linked to companies based in the park, following the model established by Eurocei. This model allows the hosting of startups that, with mentoring, guidance, and dynamization services, generate an optimal growth model for the companies.

Thus, it also aims to define a cooperation model between the companies in the park and the technology-based companies in Melilla. This would enable the establishment of business units in the autonomous city linked to the companies located in Málaga TechPark, with the possibility of these units benefiting from tax incentives.

Hence, the collaborative relationships between Málaga TechPark and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla are further strengthened. These collaborations began in 2021 and continued in 2022 with the visit of several representatives from the technopolis to Melilla.

In fact, last October, Málaga TechPark welcomed the visit of the general director of Innovation of the Government of Melilla, Jesús Martínez. The purpose of the visit was to firsthand explore the opportunities presented by the park and its ecosystem and to discuss potential ways of collaboration between the two parties.
