Málaga TechPark starts relations with Moldova IT-Park

The discussions of this first meeting have focused on the operating models of both parks and the areas of possible future cooperation between their administrations and the residents.

The Moldovan ambassador in Spain, Violeta Agrici, visited the Malaga TechPark facilities on January 22 with the counselor of her embassy, ​​Eugen Buga, and the director of the Baeza Group, Patricio Baez. The reason of the visit was to start cooperating with Malaga organizations and institutions and promote commercial agreements with various companies in the technology sector.

As a result of this institutional visit, Málaga TechPark had the first virtual meeting with Moldova IT-Park last Thursday. Discussions were focused on the operating models of both parks and areas of possible future cooperation between their administrations and residents.

The videoconference was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Spain. It was attended by Sonia Palomo, director of International Relations and Technology Transfer, Málaga TechPark, Natalia Donțu, administrator, from Moldova IT-Park, Andrei Cusca, head of the Directorate of Policies and Regulations of the Information Society and Economy Digital of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of Moldova and Eugen Buga, counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Spain.

After this first meeting, a program of activities is being prepared to be carried out jointly by both technology parks.

The Moldova IT-Park is a park that follows a model of a virtual park, unique in the world, established for 4 years. This model allows its resident companies to have a virtual presence in the park and enjoy a 7% single tax regime. Currently, it gathers almost 693 companies, of which 150 companies with foreign capital from 34 countries. Based fundamentally on the Information Technology sector, there are software and digital design companies, among others, that employ more than 11,500 workers. Last year 2020 they reached an annual turnover of 250 million euros.
