Malaga TechPark has taken part in the third partner meeting for the European project  ‘Digital Innovation for Blue Enterprises and Social Tourism DIBEST’ held in Caen, France.

The main objective of this project is to support sustainable tourism by providing essential digital tools for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the sector.

The meeting brought together partners from four European countries: Ireland, France, Portugal, and Spain. The ‘DIBEST’ project includes organizations from various sectors, such as universities, research institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and private companies. Alongside Málaga TechPark, Spain is represented by the University of Málaga, Promálaga, and AGAN – the Galician Association of Nautical Activities.

During the meeting, all ongoing and upcoming activities were reviewed in order to ensure the proper development of the project. This project will involve the creation of various training materials based on four key pillars: digitalization basics, digital skills and support for digitalization, digital development, and digital future.

One of the objectives is the creation of an online training course for tourism micro-enterprises.  The design and implementation of the training content for this course has been one of the primary topics discussed. Additionally, another key objective of the project is to develop a digital toolkit—a repository of information on the project´s activities and other useful tools that will help improve the social, environmental, and economic sustainability of micro tourism enterprises.

A total of 80 tourism micro-enterprises from the different regions will be selected to participate in the project’s actions, for which they will be provided with a set of knowledge and training according to their specific needs and readiness for business digitalization. The selection and recruitment criteria for these microenterprises were also established during the meeting.

Lastly, several mentoring sessions are planned. These sessions will offer microenterprises access to a wide range of resources, specialized knowledge, and collaboration opportunities.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue close collaboration to achieve the common goal of the project: supporting the digitalization of tourism microenterprises along the Atlantic coast.
