The Ministry finalizes the decree for the creation of the TechPark center in Malaga, after the transfer of the land by the City Council. The project is included by the Andalusian Government in the framework of the European recovery funds Next Generation.
The Andalusian Government continues to take steps towards the creation of the Andalusian Innovation Center for Vocational Training (CIAFP) in Málaga TechPark. The objective of this center is to improve the competitiveness of the productive fabric through the continuous promotion of VET, promoting creativity, research, innovation, entrepreneurship and the improvement of the professional qualification of both the students and the teaching staff of the centers that teach VET, in permanent symbiosis with the business sector.
This center is part of the priority objective of the Ministry of Education and Sports to turn Vocational Training in Andalusia into the main strategic tool to help young people access the labour market. The center’s work will be to train highly qualified professionals who respond to the profiles demanded by the global labor market, al well as collaborate in the growth and competitiveness of the Andalusian productive sector, opening doors to diversification, transferring knowledge and innovation to both educational centers and schools. to the companies.
With an estimated investment of 16 million euros, the Ministry of Education and Sports finalizes the decree for the creation of the center while the procedure for the approval of financing through the European Next Generation EU recovery funds advances. Similarly, the Malaga City Council has already approved the transfer to the Andalusian Government of the land located in Malaga TechPark where the CIAFP would be located. The new Innovation Center will be built in the Málaga Technology Park, on the PS-2 and PS-D3 plots, measuring 5,786 square meters.
It will have, among other spaces, future classrooms, augmented reality classrooms, Fab Lab (manufacturing laboratories) and coworking spaces. Open-plan classrooms will be the ideal setting to experiment with new methodologies that will later be implemented in vocational training courses, making them flexible and close to the productive environment. Its construction will be carried out in three three phases: start-up phase (2020-21), construction phase (2021-2023) and equipment phase (2022-2023).
This center is conceived as an open space so that teachers, educational centers, companies, Andalusian universities and other communities and countries who want to share or participate in the research and innovation projects that are going to be carried out can do what.
