DEKRA Málaga TechPark

Minister for Economy, Finance, and European Funds of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Carolina España visited the DEKRA facilities at Málaga TechPark. España, who is also president of the Málaga technopolis, toured through the testing rooms and other laboratories of this German multinational.

She was accompanied by the Executive Vice-President of DEKRA, Fernando Hardasmal; Director of Malaga TechPark, Felipe Romera, and Regional Delegate for Economy, Finance and European Funds, Antonio Jesús García.

During the visit, Carolina España thanked  DEKRA for its commitment to Málaga and Andalusia, and highlighted the importance of its presence in the city and the region in terms of economic impact and job creation.

Carolina España emphasized the valuable contribution of companies to the transformation of Andalusia, while highlighting that the Andalusian Government’s commitment to creating a favorable ecosystem for businesses and investment ‘is what has allowed Andalusia to become a technological and innovation hub that, increasingly, attracts talent and promotes excellence.’

A commitment that, as the councillor recalled, is reflected in the two lines of incentives focused on Industrial Development and R&D&i for businesses, endowed with 244 million euros and which are being pursued by 835 Andalusian companies.

DEKRA´s commitment from Malaga

Since its arrival in Málaga in 2015, DEKRA has expanded its presence in Andalusia with numerous key projects. Among the most notable milestones are the acquisition of AT4 Wireless in 2015, which marked the beginning of its commitment to the region, and the creation, together with Telefónica in 2019, of the first testing and certification center in Europe for 5G communications in vehicles.

In 2020, following its collaboration with Telefónica, DEKRA created the most advanced R&D laboratory for connected driving in Southern Europe, while in 2021, it established a Global IT Technologies Hub. Recently, in November of last year, DEKRA opened its new training center in Málaga, further solidifying its strategic commitment to Southern Europe.
