The Mayor of Malaga visits the Railway Innovation Hub railway cluster

Railway Innovation Hub

This cluster of companies is located in Malaga TechPark and is an international reference in railway innovation and high technology, with almost 90 associated companies.

The Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, visited this Tuesday the headquarters of Railway Innovation Hub, a cluster located in the Center for Railway Technologies (CTF), in Malaga TechPark. Railway Innovation Hub is an international reference in railway innovation and high technology, considered unique worldwide, with almost 90 associated companies.

The objective of this railway cluster is to promote technology and knowledge in the sector at an international level through the generation of collaborative R&D&I projects, the commercialization of technology and project experience, the promotion of entrepreneurship and the provision of specialized services.

Railway Innovation Hub is currently working on ImpulsoTREN 2030, GRail, Phygital Hub, Smart Train Smart and Air Andalusia, among other projects. It is also worth mentioning the recent dissemination of the railway BIM classification, promoted by the cluster, in which more than 25 associated companies have worked.

De la Torre -accompanied by the Councillor for Innovation and Urban Digitalization, Susana Carillo- was received by the president of Railway Innovation Hub, Juan Elizaga; its vice president, Juan Carlos Cortés; the president of its executive committee, Ignacio Jardí; its institutional representative, Álvaro Simón de Blas; its technical director, Víctor Tienda; and several representatives of companies belonging to the cluster. Also present at the meeting was the area manager of the Railway Technology and R&D Management Center of Adif, Miguel Ríos Reyes.

The meeting ended with a tour of the Railway Technology Center (CTF) of Adif, where the technical office of the Railway Innovation and High Technology Cluster Railway Innovation Hub is located. The CTF is conceived as an open space to promote innovation and business collaboration focused on railway technological development through R&D&I projects. The companies present in the CTF belong to different sectors such as telecommunications, signaling and railway superstructure, construction and civil works, railway rolling stock, energy and sustainability.
