Through challenges proposed by Google, Trops, Endesa, Accenture, Tinámica, Innova IRV Microelectrónica and Unicaja the startups that will work in the new entrepreneurship space of the Unicaja Foundation Cultural Center in Málaga will be selected.
Unicaja Foundation and Málaga TechPark have opened a call to select the startups, entrepreneurs and newly created companies that will be housed in the new entrepreneurship space that will soon open its doors at the Unicaja Foundation Cultural Center in Málaga.
To do this, seven large companies in the city (Google, Trops, Endesa, Accenture, Tinámica, Innova IRV Microelectrónica and Unicaja) will show the participants several challenges they will have to face in order to enter the programme. They will be related to themes of food tech, sustainability-circularity, industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, culture, cybersecurity, microelectronics and fintech.
The call is aimed at entrepreneurs or startups based in Andalusia or in the province of Ciudad Real that develop, or plan to develop, activities related to the use of technologies or innovative projects with a clear and measurable alignment and impact on, at least, one of the Sustainable Development Goals.
This initiative is a result of the collaboration agreement between Unicaja Foundation and Málaga TechPark to continue promoting technological development, starting with the launch of this new space for the growth of entrepreneurial projects.
Interested companies have until 19th May to submit their applications by emailing información@pta.es. The projects will be evaluated by a committee made up of representatives of the Unicaja Foundation and Málaga TechPark. The degree of response to the posed challenges, the alignment with the SDGs, social and environmental impact, technological innovation, viability and growth potential, contribution to research and innovation and the diversity and inclusion of the project will be included in the selection criteria. The complete rules of the call and the documentation to be submitted are available on the microsite www.pta.es/programa-de-emprendimiento-conjunto-fundacion-unicaja-malaga-techpark/
A new space to encourage projects’ growth
The new entrepreneurship space in the Unicaja Foundation Cultural Center will offer coworking offices to entrepreneurs and startups with the objective of facilitating the development of their projects in Málaga city. It has eight coworking rooms for companies that have made a significant contribution to knowledge and, that have been chosen by a competition of ideas promoted by the Unicaja Foundation. It also has a space dedicated to the city of Málaga startups meetings. The rooms have been intervened by the artists Doger, Cristina Soler, Íñigo David Magro, Mural 13, Adrián Funes, Eryk Pall, Jerónimo Díaz García, Pipo Malpegados and Sota Pérez through the “Premio Fundación Unicaja de Pintura Mural.”
With this agreement, the Unicaja Foundation continues its commitment to contribute to socio-economic development and attracting talent in its field of action, by promoting and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives and projects with social, economic and environmental impact that favour innovation and the transfer of knowledge to society as a whole.
For its part, Málaga TechPark, with more than 25 years of history, maintains among its objectives the promotion of programmes that encourage the creation of business projects through advice, training and promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit. This way, with the launch of a new space at the headquarters of the Unicaja Foundation, the technopolis continues to radiate innovative activity outside the physical limits of the Technological Park, as it already has work enclaves such as the one located in the extension of the Teatinos university campus or the one recently set up in the city’s port.
